The Importance of Sleep and When to Sleep
Many of us generally want to sleep as little as possible or feel their lives are too busy to sleep. However, sleep is essential for anyone serious about getting in shape. By getting 8 hours full sleep a night will help increase the production of growth and repair hormones which will improve your:
Body's ability to fight infections such as a cold, flu and others
Timing of sleep is also important. The cycle of the dark and light affects all living creatures, and whenever the body is exposed to light the brain thinks it is daytime and when it is dark, nighttime. We generally feel more tired when it is dark, this is because when the sun has set and the body is no longer exposed to daylight the body produces a hormone called melatonin which makes us sleepy. When the body and mind begins to feel tired try and get to bed by 10 - 10.30 pm, you'll feel better for it and notice improved energy levels!
